FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The University of Arkansas community is mourning after a student died Friday morning following an incident at the Harmon Avenue Parking Garage in Fayetteville.
Emergency responders from multiple agencies were dispatched to the parking facility, located at 146 N. Harmon Ave., at approximately 10 a.m. after reports of a medical emergency. Upon arrival, first responders located a student who was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
University officials and law enforcement authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident. The identity of the student has not yet been released pending notification of family members.
The incident drew a significant emergency response and prompted concern among students, faculty, and community members. Witnesses described a somber atmosphere as first responders worked at the scene and authorities secured the area.
